This MK1 Morris Cooper S is an original South Australian delivered car, and a matching numbers example. The paint colour (Shadow Blue) is the original colour as specified on the vehicle's ID plate - this colour only being available on the Cooper S during 1966 and 1967. The Australian Cooper S register on Ausmini.com notes only 25 examples (confirmed to date) produced in this particular colour, and we've yet to add one to our small MK1 Cooper S Register. 

This excellent example is offered for sale by Minisport South Australia. The seller notes this is a very original car, and comes with its sales docket which confirms it first sold through Adelaide Motors on 31 January 1968. The numbers noted on the body tag match the bulkhead stamping, and the original engine which is still in the car. The body number stamping on the radiator shroud correctly reflects 500 less than the car number, with the stamping "M2" over "06" also present.

The car is fitted with MK2 wheel arch flares and aftermarket 10 inch contessa style wheels. Otherwise, the vehicle is very close to its strict factory specification, and checks out in every way as a genuine MK1 Australian Cooper S, an increasingly desirable classic internationally.
