Describe your vehicle:

Up for sale is my 1978 Leyland Mini in a bright Yellow.

I had purchased this car as a project however i havent had the time or money to commit to it. Afteri bought the car from the auctions, i had replaced the floor panels as it had some rust holes. This was carried out by a professionaly welder.

The car was running after i had changed the fuel pump however it struggles to stay idling for more than 5 minutes, i suspect there is an issue with either the fuel pump or something small that someone with more carbi experience would be able to pick up on.

The current condition of the vechicle:

Rust: there is surface rust in certain areas, as you would expect for its age.

Mechanical: The car was running fine, engine had no knocks or any obvious issues.

Interior: seats are fairly clean, no major rips. Sections of the dash are missing.

- 39xxx kms

-1275 cc motor with the engine preifx of: 12H902

If you are interested in the vehicle, please call me on 0450210405.

Located 25 minutes from melbourne in Victoria.

For sale: 1978 Leyland Mini 1275 LS

One of approximately 800 1275 LS cars built, this QLD based LS is finished in its original Nugget Gold paint and chocolate brown cloth / creme vinyl trim. The last of the Australian Mini models (excluding the Moke), the LS received a number of unique features which placed it at the top of the Australian Mini range at the time, and was only available in one other colour, Hi-Ho Silver.

This example runs and drives, and is an original car where it really counts. The modifications made to this car are all easily reversed, such as the steering wheel, contessa style wheels and a number of other small items which are easily replaced or sourced. Click this link to see a short video of the car running.

The engine bay is largely unmodified, with all original pollution gear, firewall insulation and several factory stickers still in place. The car retains its factory single 1.5 inch SU carby, and its 8.4 inch disc brakes. It has been repainted at some point in its life which has prevented any significant deterioration. The body is very solid, with limited rust.

The seller confirms the car's numbers (engine and chassis) accord with original records for the vehicle, and those numbers do appear correct according to our register, and research.

This particular car is the earliest body number we've found on our register of over 100 1275 LS vehicles collected over the last 5+ years. Although chassis numbers were not necessarily consecutive at the Leyland factory, there is a correlation between the body numbers and the months of compliance in the data we have.

This car shares a "12H879UH" engine prefix with the next two cars whose chassis numbers closely follow on our register – both being July 1978 built cars. This is an interesting coincidence and provides some evidence suggesting the "12H879UH" prefix engines were fitted to the earliest of the cars, before the stock of "12H902UH" engines started being fitted (which is the prefix applicable to the vast majority of the cars).

This LS will be sold without a roadworthy certificate. To arrange an inspection or for further information, please contact the seller by signing in and clicking the button at the top of this page.

For further information on these cars, take a look at the Mini 1275 LS information guide.

Spotted on trademe NZ in Decemnber 2018, this looks to be a fairly stock and clean example of the Turbo Familia GT-X. At the time of the ad, it was asking $7,000 NZD. Check out the other examples on the Mazda Familia GT-X register.

Wanted: Leyland Mini 1275 LS

I'm looking for a Leyland Mini 1275 LS in good original condition. It does not have to be perfect, but preferably minimal rust, original engine (with correct prefix) and not heavily modified. The car needs to be running.

I'm located in the Blue Mountains NSW, and will consider all cars in Sydney, the mountains or surrounds. In terms of budget, around $12,500 is what I expect to pay. I'm not fussed which colour (Nugget Gold or Hi-Ho Silver).

If you have a car available somewhere in that budget and in the vicinity described, please get in touch by logging in and clicking the contact button above.

I look forward to hearing from people. Adam.

Arguably one of the most recognizable cars from the era the Ford Mustang Mach 1 has gone down in history as one of the great classics. Featuring Fords's 351 Windsor (producing 216 KW) linked to a four speed manual this car is the ultimate muscle car! Easily identifiable with its "shark front" and bonnet scoops the Mach 1 is a little more defined when compared to the pony mustangs of the mid 1960's, Ford's Mustang had finally grown up!
