1970 Ford Capri MK1 Perana V8

Basil Green motors is a former car manufacturer based in South Africa. They were best known for tuning Fords as well as producing and racing these cars. This Mk 1 Capri (also known as the Perana) is one of 500 originally made by Basil Green and has the matching numbers to prove it.

Basil Green put the 302 Windsor block (replacing the V6 that the car originally came with). This engine was the same block used in the Mustang. When produced this car was a bit of a mix of a Ford Falcon (Australian variant) and the Ford Mustang as it borrowed parts from both platforms.

The owner of this car describes this car as 80% restored with some minor finishing required to have it complete. The body (as seen in the photographs) is in good shape, the same can be said about the interior. The asking price in April 2017 was $34,000 AUD.
