1971 Toyota Crown S70 (MS75) Coupe

This solid example was advertised around 2015 in USA, and onlt the 5th MS series Toyota Crown Coupe on our register. It was advertised as a barn find at the time from an estate, and was last registered in 1983 - so has had very little use overall. It has its original 2.6 4M streight 6, power steering, power antenna, and original radio. The best of Japanese luxury at the time.

At the time the seller noted it was very solid, with the pans/frame veing 100% rust free. There is a lot of surface rust from sitting on a dirt floor in a shed for 34 years. The significant rust that it does have is along front/back window trim in spots, rear quarter panel spots, and around right rear outer taillight. There is also some surface rust under the mat in the trunk, but it's not very serious. The bottoms of the doors are also solid. The worst spot is on the back glass, lower right rear panels (sills). It has a previous poorly done paintjob, and the body work on the left front fender needs to be redone. It has previous minor accident damage on the left front fender and wheelwell area of the left rear quarter.

The motor does not run and appears to be ceases (won't turn by hand). However, it is full of oil - rings are probably just stuck. It had a new unused set of points and condenser sitting on the front seat, so that may be why it was originally parked.

The interior has the usual cracked dash pad, worn out carpet, and headliner seams falling apart. The seats and door panels are not bad at all, minor cracks, except for the large hole in the front edge of the rear seat.

This car is too rare and solid to be parted out, it really is an interesting piece of history that needs to be preserved.

Take a look at the other examples on the MS70 and MS75 Coupe Register. These cars are one of the most Beautiful 70s Japanese coupes built. If you have one, we'd love to get yours on the register so we can preserve the details of these classics going forward.
