Up for sale is my XP Hardtop that had a full bare shell restoration in the early 1990s, in Brisbane.
Following the extensive restoration, many improvements have been made to the car. A 221 cid engine was fitted that includes a 2V head, 350 Holley and extractors with a twin system, mated to a manual 5 speed cast iron Celica gearbox. The interior was completely refurbished and the front seats have been upgraded to Stratos bucket seats.
There is a modern radio head unit in the glove box, and a 10 disc CD stacker in the boot. The boot has been well appinted with lockers and carpet - along with the battery and isolation switch.
She's a good honest car that gets used regularly - so has some fair wear and tear spots on the body along with some usual hardtop foibles that these cars develop. It drives just as you'd expect with plenty of pulling power under the right foot and a nice note from the exhaust! With disc brakes at the front with a VH40 booster it stops pretty well too. It has 5 new tyres fitted in the last 6 months and is currently on Qld club registration.
If you're looking for a classic car that's been tastefully improved for today's roads, this is the one. The XP Falcon is a fast appreciating classic, particularly in hardtop form.
