It's rare to see one on such an exotoc clour - most examples kept to traditional blacks, whites, and greys. This looks great in what we think is Quartz Blue - If anyone knows for sure please let us know. This example of the C140 was advertised on carsales.com.au and through other online sources in Australia, in September 2019. If anyone has history on the car, please contact the author on the button provided so we can update this page.
A nice example we spotted advertised on craigslist in September 2019. This one is a pre facelift car, Being a pre-1996 car, it appears to be suffering from the ASR issues which the seller mentioned in the advertsement. The following was taken from the initial ad on craigslist: Unfortunately It does have 2 issues:
1) Its has a slow power-steering-fluid leak. (Easy fix though).
2) The ASR-LIGHT pops up on the dash when the accelerator is pushed hard.
Car has sat for 2 years - was imported directly from Germany for an Embassy and an ambassador was driving it. The car is in fair condition for its age, and everything is there, however, it does not start and interior will need some attention (some sun damage). Everything is original, no modifications or upgrades. This vehicle is perfect candidate for restoration, with the C140 coupes fas becoming future classics.
This is an exceptionally rare 1964 Studebaker R-2 Daytona Hardtop, which we spotted listed on ebay USA in August 2019. Much of tjhis wording heer comes directly from the original advertoisement. Fitted with a factory 289 cubic inch Paxton supercharged engine and full performance package. The package included: Heavy duty springs and shocks, power front disc brakes, 3.73 Twin Traction rear end, dual exhaust, rear radius rods, rear stabilizer bar, tachometer, 160 mph speedometer, front bucket seats
The first example on our register, a genuine Keonig enhanced 500SEC twin turbo V8. It's the first time i've seen one advertised so thought it would be a good idea to keep a record of it on this register.
At the time this one was advertised, the seller noted the car was imported from Germany years ago, and had the following modifications done by Koenig Specials (KN):
– BBS Rims
– Twin Turbo
This 88 model was advertised on Ebay USA in July 2019. Reasonably high mileage (186,000), but like most old Mercs this doesn't really show and the car looks in good order. THe seller at the time noted the car was in excellent condition with no major issues, and drived well. One of a large number of 560SECs for sale in the USA - presumably the car's biggest market. They are a very affordable modern classic at the moment, but few of them are available with low mileage.
Build number 038 was spotted for sale on Facebook in mid-2019. Navy blue, the car was advertised as complete but needing a respray. The Spare wheel is cracked thru a spoke, and the rest had gutter rash. A couple bubbles of rust are visible in the outer sill. At the time it was asking only 6,000 AUD - one of the cheapest FBTs we've seen. Check out the other FBT Fairlanes on the register below. If you have one, add yours so we can retain the details of these late Aussie muscle Fairlanes.
Spotted on Ebay USA in July 2019, looks good in Black, this S500 coupe was one of the last models badged as such before being re-named CL500 from later in 1996. The CL500/600 and S500/600 coupes from the 1990s are surely future classics, and available at great prices at the moment. Check out the others on the register - links below.
This rare S600 coupe was offered on Ebay USA in July 2019. The seller had been using it as a daily driver, but it has relatively low km, but looks like it needs a bit of a tidy up. Certainly a future calssic. It does need some more appropriately sized wheels, however.. The advertiser at the time made the following comments about the car:
Advertised on Ebay USA in July 2019, this S500 coupe has reasonably low mileage and was offered through Central Florida Automotive group. A future classic, the S500 of 1995 was tha last of the S500 coupes - soon to be renamed CL500 in 1996, with a few other upgrades. Hence, this car is the pre-facelift model (without sensors in teh bumpers, slightly revised tail lamps etc) - but otherwise much the same as the CL of 96 onward. 2019 seems to be a great time to buy, with values at rock bottom for these cars that were hundreds of thousands new.
