This Australian delivered 280 SE 3.5 has been in dry storage for a number of years, and has just 89,500 km on the clock. Delivered new to Regents Park NSW, the car was first registered on 27 November 1972. The body is in excellent condition, with only a few tiny rust spots as shown in the images. It has been repainted at some point in its life in the current dark metallic blue, which still shines up well. Its original blue (code 903) is a softer colour, which can be seen under the bonnet and in the door jambs.
We've recently installed a new Bosch fuel pump (correct for the car), and serviced the injectors - and the car now runs and drives. We have also replaced the gear selector coupling on the firewall (which had come loose). That still needs a bit of tuning but lets you select gears OK. On test drive, the car drives well and goes through the gears nicely, is extremely comfortable, and has great power steering. There is a coolant leak from the water pump which would need to be tended to if you wanted to get the car on the road.
Inside, the interior is in great condition overall, with creme leather trim throughout over factory blue carpets. The driver's carpet looks to be non-original but the rest looks original. There is a small cut in the driver's side bolster, and a small crack in the dashboard. The car is fitted with an aftermarket stereo and speakers, but comes with its original Becker Europa radio cassette. The car also comes with its original books in the glovebox.
The price has been set a bit lower than the market rate, noting that there are a few items as noted above that require attention before the car is put back on the road.
