The last of the Australian Minis, the 1275 LS became a limited edition with an estimated 800 units built before Leyland shut down the Enfield production facility. The 1275 LS was the top specification Australian Mini in 1978, and saw the welcome return of a factory 1275cc engine for the first time since the Clubman GT.  In addition to the larger capacity engine, the 1275 LS was differentiated from the Leyland Mini range by features such as front disc brakes (8.4 inch), a long range fuel tank, rear window demister and unique trim. This particular car is offered for sale in Brisbane, Queensland. The current owner has had the car for a couple of years and has been slowly adding and replacing various parts. It's registered and a weekly driver, although it does need a few minor things done. The seller would prefer that the car goes to go to an enthusiast with a basic knowledge of BMC minis, to give this rare LS the attention it deserves.

The car has recently had thousands spent on it, including a fresh paint job in the original Hi-Ho Silver this year, new LS decals, new door and trunk hinges, and new flares. Before paint, some rust in the A-pillar was also fixed, and the car is otherwise completely rust-free - very rare to find an LS that is rust free! Inside the car, the original red velour cloth is in excellent condition, another very rare find. The seller has also installed new sun visors, ash tray, boot liner - the list goes on. The only minor issues include a couple of instruments that are not working, and the heater has not been connected up.

The 1275 engine has been fitted with twin carbs, and has had new carb screws and linkages installed. It also has a new water pump, thermostat and runs fairly well, but the seller notes it still needs a tune. 4 new tyres have also been fitted, and the brakes are good.

The seller will include many receipts with the car, including for all parts sourced from Minisport and Mini Kingdom directly. There are also some other spare parts that will go with the sale.
