Spotted this one on Hemmings in mid 2026 - the original seller made the following comments:

exceptionally well-preserved 1965 Studebaker Daytona Sports Sedan, one of only 1,626 produced for the model year. Finished in Astra White with its factory black vinyl Sport Roof and showing just 64,073 documented original miles, this highly original example was assembled at Studebaker's Hamilton, Ontario plant on June 16, 1965—only weeks before Studebaker ceased automobile production. As one of the final Studebakers ever built, it represents an important chapter in the company's history.

Powered by its original, numbers-matching 195-horsepower Chevrolet 283-cu.in. V8, this Daytona retains its factory Borg-Warner automatic transmission and Dana 44 rear axle. Equipped with desirable factory options including power steering, bucket seats with center console, push-button radio, whitewall tires, and full wheel covers, the car remains remarkably authentic while offering the comfort and drivability that distinguished Studebaker's final production year. Accompanied by its original Factory Production Order, it represents an exceptionally well-preserved example of one of the last Studebakers ever built.

Prior to being offered for sale, the car underwent a comprehensive inspection and service by a professional mechanic experienced with vintage Studebakers. The braking, cooling, ignition, fuel, electrical, and drivetrain systems were thoroughly inspected and serviced where necessary. The car starts easily, idles smoothly, shifts properly, and drives exceptionally well, making it equally suited for touring, local shows, or regular enjoyment.

The body is exceptionally straight, and the Astra White finish presents beautifully against its factory black vinyl Sport Roof. Chrome, stainless trim, glass, and exterior brightwork remain in outstanding condition, while the engine compartment, trunk, and overall presentation reflect decades of careful ownership and preservation. This is an honest, highly original collector automobile that has been meticulously maintained rather than excessively restored.

Inside, the factory black bucket seat interior remains exceptionally well preserved. The upholstery, dashboard, gauges, steering wheel, door panels, headliner, and trim all exhibit the same level of care evident throughout the rest of the automobile. The interior retains its original character and the factory center console, automatic shifter, and instrumentation further distinguish this well-optioned Daytona.

This vehicle is one of several carefully selected Studebakers being offered from a private family collection assembled by a lifelong Studebaker enthusiast and longtime Studebaker Drivers Club member. Each automobile in the collection was chosen for its originality, mechanical integrity, and drivability, then carefully maintained and preserved over many years. This Daytona exemplifies that philosophy.

The sale includes the original Factory Production Order along with documentation and materials accumulated during ownership. A complete inventory of those materials will be available as they are reviewed.
