Built from 1995 - 1996, this final edition XJS known as the "Celebration" was the last iteration of the XJS model which had been introduced all the way back in 1976, and was designated to celebrate the 60th year of the Jaguar company. Although styling at the car's introduction was controversial, a 21 year production run and relatively strong sales demonstrate it was well ahead of its time, and we certainly think it looks better with every year. This example is currently offered through a dealer on classic-trader.com, with no price disclosed. Looking at a few other examples on the market, expect an asking price north of £15,000.

The Celebration XJS was based on the updated XJS body style which had been re-engineered in 1991, with the most notable exterior change on the convertibles being the revised rear tail lights, and more aerodynamic front and rear bumpers. The convertible body style of these later series cars also accommodated the 2+2 seating configuration. Mechanically, these the XJS benefited from the AJ16 4.0 6-cylinder engine (producing 177kw), which had a revised coil on plug ignition design among many other improvements. The Celebration was also available with an optional 6.0l V12 engine.

Externally, these cars can usually be recognised by their diamond turned wheels (of which several designs were available). Inside, among other features, there was timber trim on the gear shifter and steering wheel, a driver's airbag, contrasting piping on the unique leather trim and a Jaguar symbol embossed in the upper backs of the front seats. This particular example appears in very good condition, with reasonable mileage for its age and a pristine interior. The quad-headlight front gives it a a slightly older appearance than the European lights, but some people like that classic look.
