Designed and built in Italy by  Pininfafina, this factory right hand drive Lancia Flaminia is an exceptionally rare car to find in Australia, with global production of these stylish coupes reaching just 5,236 (many of which have been wrecked). This car is in original condition, and would suit an enthusiast seeking an unrestored survivor.

Built alongside the saloon, the 2 + 2 coupe chassis was a development of the earlier Aurelia's chassis, but was significantly upgraded. It had a slightly shorter wheel base than it’s sedan counterpart and was a major commercial success for Lancia. The first 3200 examples of the PF Coupe (including this example) had a 2.5-litre engine with a single Solex C40 carburettor, 'Sport' camshaft and higher compression ratio than the sedan. Most Flaminias, including this car, are were fitted with the 4-speed manual transmission. The car produces just under 120hp, and has a supposed top speed of 188km/h. Later models (from 1963 onward) were known as the 3B, and had a 2.8l V6.

This car is finished in dark blue, possibly “Blue Mendoza” (Code “LAN 172”). The paint is good condition and likely received a re-spray at some point in the last decade. However some rust repair is required particularly along the vehicles sill / rocker panels. Examples of the rust locations noted by the seller are provided in the images.

Inside, the dark blue leather trim is great condition overall, with the exception of the driver’s bucket seat where a couple of pleats require re-stitching. Door trims, head lining and dashboard all present very well and in good original condition.

This is a unique and practical alternative to the Italian supercars of the 60s, and the car has a true presence in its styling. You can certainly see similarities in the design with other Pininfarina cars of the era (such as the Nash), and reminds us particularly of a modernised Rambler American 2-door club sedan.
