2006 Mini R53 Cooper S (John Cooper Works)

I've always liked the first series of the New Mini - the R53, and this one's a particularly special variant, being the John Cooper Works Special. Finished in a popular blue metallic (I remember seeing lots in this colour back in the early 00s), the car has just over 100,000km on the clock and looks in close to immaculate condition.

The first series New Minis are the smallest of the new Minis, and all later generations have added weight and dimensions, and supposedly lost quality. I'm not sure how reliable these cars are, but have heard that they burn a bit of oil. Might st be a rumour.. Anyway, the power from the JCW engine is significantly upped from the factory output. The JCW Modifications include flowed heads ,bigger injectors, ceramic supercharger vein, pully reduction, airbox mod, ecu upgrade, 18" JCW alloy wheels, larger callipers, JCW exhaust and badging. The standard Cooper S produces 160hp, the JCW produces an impressive 210hp.

This nice example was advertised here on Facebook marketplace - see the original listing here. I believe this is the first R53 on Classic Register!
