We’ve decided it’s time for "White Crest" to move on to her next chapter -  she’s ready for someone with the time and enthusiasm to bring her back to her best, and make the most of an excellent solid boat.

White Crest is a classic Halvorsen 36 ft twin-screw cruiser built in 1951 at Halvorsen’s Ryde boatyard. Currently moored on the lower Hawkesbury, she’s been privately owned all her life and still has that classic Halvorsen look - solid hull, graceful lines, and plenty of history.

We purchased White Crest in 2018 from Sydney, and brought her up to the Hawkesbury. She’s fitted with twin Vetus diesel engines (she was originally equipped with twin 6-cylinder petrol Chrysler engines).

We've had some initial works completed, including strengthening of the hull by adding sister frames, and swapping out water filters and coolers for improved versions. She has also had a recent antifoul. Longer term, she needs someone to maximise her potential from this solid base. I note that:

• Hull is basically sound (some borer repaired and copper-patched)
• Roof/brow need rebuilding (if you intended to take her back to original (refer to older photographs in below link showing her original brow)
• Electrics need reworking;
• Interior needs restoration and refresh
• Good twin diesels, low hours, but they require heat exchangers

The video and images at the above link show her in her earlier years, including a roof brow that seems to have been added after her original build. The ply extension to the cabin roof that came off during transport was never replaced.

We’ve been advised that restored examples this size can reach upwards of $150k. We’re asking $50,000 ONO to find the right person to take her forward.
