Asking $19,900 (USD) in June 2017, this Grand Wagoneer is currently listed on Hemmings and appears to be in relatively good order, providing reasonable value in comparison to several others seen online recently (with some excellent examples asking over $40,000).
The Wagoneer's were exceptionally popular in the US and several other export markets, being the first 'luxury' SUV, and also had an excellent towing capability. The Grand Wagoneer was the high-end Wagoneer model, and had remained on the same chassis for some 29 years under three Makes (Kaiser, AMC and finally Chrysler), and production continued through until 1991. The later models (particularly after 1989) are considered the most desirable, however, the late model cars remained very similar in specification to the final iteration made by AMC, as seen with this 1985 model.
With nearly half a million produced in various forms, they're not exactly rare and probably never will be (at least in the USA). As a practical classic, however, we do expect prices for good examples to continue upward - as many examples have had a fairly tough life on salty mountain roads.
