This is the first we've added to Classic Register, and one of only 750 Shelby CSXs built for the 1987 year, currently advertised for sale here on Ebay USA. The CSX was powered by a 175hp turbocharged 4-cylinder, taking it from 0 - 60mph in 6.8 seconds. This Series 1 model was followed by the CSX-T, and the CSX-NVT (those models having slight mechanical and option alterations).

In addition to the engine modifications, suspension was upgraded, along with the installation of Shelby Z rear discs, and unique Shelby wheels were fitted to all cars. Black was the only colour option for the 1987 year, and there was no optional equipment available.

This particular example is supposedly owned by Cleo Shelby, the widow of Carroll, making this car quite a special collector's item. The body is described as being in decent condition but the paint is starting to go on the roof. Unfortunately, it no longer retains its original wheels. The interior was redone in Shelby fabric on the front seats and door panels, but the pattern applied is not the original.
