Every so often, but very rarely, an insane bargain comes along. If I didn't have too many Austin 7 projects (and if it were located closer), I would have been tempted to snatch up this absolute bargain. What you're looking at here is a variant of the Australian sports Austin 7s (which had some fantastic and unique body styles compared with UK and other markets. While similar to the Ulster, this is an Australian Austin 7 Wasp. The body doesn't look perfect, but the seller suggests it is an original Wasp, and noted the following comments:
"1928 Austin 7 Wasp. Reconditioned 748cc engine. Reconditioned 3 speed gear box. Reconditioned diff and brakes with the rear upgraded. Previously registered in South Australia It starts and runs well, drives like it should."
This car was listed online for a matter of just 3 days before it disappeared as sold - because it was only asking just $12,000 AUD. In my opinion, even if the body on close inspection needed work, the car should have achieved high teens. An unbelievable bargain for the lucky buyer. If you are out there - please get in touch and send us some more pictures of this beauty.
