1965 Studebaker Daytona 2 Door Sports Sedan

This Daytona Sports Sedan was added to Classic Register after being spotted for sale on Ebay in May 2016. From the old auction listing found, it seems the car never sold. This is the 4th Sport Sedan on the register in 'Tahitian Turquoise' paint. One of only 1,627 Sports Sedan's built, these cars are now very rare, with only a handful coming up for sale each year. If you're looking for more information on these cars, please see our information guide for the 1965 Studebaker Sports Sedan.

The seller noted the following at the time the car was offered:

The car was purchased by them in Lewistown, Montana in 1992. It also resided in Great Falls, Montana when offered for sale in May 2016. The car has always been stored indoors and was driven occasionally. It retains its 1965 Montana number pate, suggesting the car must have been sold through a Montana dealer. The car also comes with the original owners manual, 1965 Studebaker signs, and a sticker in the door jamb for a wheel alignment done in 1967.

The carpet has "shrunk" and there are some fit issues. There is also a button missing on rear seat upholstery, and a small tear on centre arm rest on rear seat. The passenger side front turn signal is cracked, and the driver's sunvisor holding mount is cracked. The car is fitted with Kelly all-season tyres which are in good condition. The rear trunk chrome has a dent next to the key hole, and the passenger side chrome also has a small dent. There is also wear on the driver's side foot kick panel.

The car was repainted at some point in it's life, but the paint is not perfect - looks good from 10 feet. There is some bubbling / oxidisation. Chrome other than noted above is all in very good condition. The vinyl roof is believed to be the original.

Mechanically, the engine starts and runs well, as do the brakes, power steering etc. In July 2013, the car was fitted with a new brake master cylinder, and the oil was changed in December 2001. All gauges and electrics are working correctly, other than the interior clock. In 2013, the driver's side seat was repaired and reupholstered.

If you have a Daytona Sport Sedan, we would love you to share it with us on Classic Register. Please get in touch with us and we can set the car up for you, or you can sign-up add it yourself.
