Originally a Burgundy Red on Toga White car, the restorer has swapped the colours around. This is a genuine MK1 Cooper S, however, it is not a matching numbers car, in the sense tha the Cooper S engine in the car, is not actually the original motor (although it is a Cooper S engine from another car). All codes are correct for a Cooper S spec vehicle, and this example is in very nice condition.
This car was asking $32,000 on carsales in December 2016, and was advertised by a dealer at the time.
The car has a few differences from an original vehicle. Cloth face seats have been installed, and flares (which usually were reserved for the MK2 Cooper S) have also been applied, but look great. Period Dunlop wheels have also been fitted.
If you have an original Cooper S, please sign-up to classic register and display your car on the register! We would love to preserve the history, stories and information of all of as many Cooper S cars as possible.
If you are interested in reading further about these cars, see Classic Register's guide to the MK1 Morris Cooper S.
