This was the model that predicated the world famous GTHO (of the XY series) Ford Falcon. Featuring the 351 Cleveland this car is a testimony to the types of cars being produced in Australia at the time. The Australian manufacturers had taken a page or two out of the parent American car companies books in regards to both styling and engineering. The masculine look of the GT as well as the mechanical setup (v8 up front and power at the rear wheels) was characteristically the types of cars being produced in Australia.
This lasting example is a true survivor with matching numbers and the fact that it has not been to heavily modified. These cars do not fetch the same amount of money as the GTHO which gets upwards of $500,000 AUD but still can put a dent in anyones pocked, this particular model is for sale for $90,000 AUD as of the end of May 2016.
