1972 Datsun 240K Coupe

People go mental for anything that's classic Skyline, and this modified example has bids over $50,000 AUD on Ebay Australia when spotted in January 2023. This particular car has been modified with a VG30ET engine - the 3L V6 from a 300ZX, with a Z31 box. Looks right at home in the engine bay, and mated to a 5-speed transmission, this thing would go a lot better than the original 240K engine (as much as we'd love to also see an original restoration occur).

It's not just the driveline that's been modified in this car: The spare wheel well in the trunk has been removed to make way for a larger fuel tank, which the seller believes may also be a Z31 300ZX tank. All modified and complied in QLD. I presume it's transferrable to others states. The seller noted the car drives well, but could do with a general freshen up. I noticed the dash has a nice big crack in it and the paint is not perfect - but at least you wouldn't have to be too careful when driving.

See the original listing here on Ebay Australia. And check out the register for other 240Ks.
