1973 Ford Falcon XA GT Sedan

This lovely Yellow Fire XA GT came up on carsales in 2022, asking $265,000. Check out the images - this thing is absolutely immaculate and ready for the concourse. One of just 1,868 XA GT sedans built across 1972 and 1973.. Rare and in a great colour, check out the original ad here.

At the time this was offered for sale, the seller made the following comments in the original advertisement:

"This XA GT is a very late in the production run 8/73 car. Factory Yellow Fire Black Trim manual, this car was originally sold From Eclipse Motors Sebastapol Vic to a Lismore couple in January 1974. Optioned with protection pack, black vinyl roof, deluxe radio and rare quarter vent windows, this GT was secured with a $2 plus wedding ring holding deposit with the balance paid the following day (including the return of the ring). A photo of Mr and Mrs Trainor, the original owners of the GT comes with the car including copies of the original sale documentation and original owners log books. The GT was later shedded in 1994 not to be registered or leave the shed again for quite some time. It was there that this GT sat under covers until early 2014 (still unregistered) when a Mr Gipp purchased it. Mr Gipp did not have the car very long before selling again in 2015 to a Mr Avery (A picture of Mr Gipp with the GT comes with car). Once again Mr Avery moved the GT on after a short period and sold it to Mr Ampt in 2016. Again after only a short period, the GT changed hands in 2017 when the current owner purchased it and commenced a full and thorough restoration at MAAD Restorations in Emu Plains. A Full bare metal restoration was undertaken including panel and paint, driveline, interior, chrome work, stainless etc. The original matching numbers 351 was fully rebuilt with quality components and a very healthy hp upgrade. Factory style integrated air con was also fitted for driver comfort. The toploader and diff also underwent a full rebuild. The original 12 slot wheels have been straightened and restored including the genuine wheel trims and caps. The front end features original upper and lower control arms that have been restored then fitted with concors ball joints correctly riveted in place. Everything else in the front and rear end have either been restored, rebuilt or replaced. NOS mud flaps have also been fitted. All new or restored trim in the interior, all chrome rechromed, all stainless professionally polished, this GT owes a lot more than the asking price. The restoration was completed in 2019 and the car has travelled less than 150 kilometres since then. Due to its lack of use, the owner has asked that I put his GT up for sale on his behalf. Where do you find a freshly restored XA GT in a highly desirable combo, with full known and documented history, owners log books and all the work done. This GT is available for viewing at LJT Restorations, Kilkenny Adelaide. For a better quality of this uploaded video please go to LJT Restorations facebook page."
