1977 Leyland Mini 998 LS

A nut and bolt restored 998 LS - converted to 1275cc - this car was offered on Gumtree in January 2017, asking $20,000! A lot to ask at the time for an LS, but considering the amount the seller claims was spent on the restoration, it's only a fraction of what it would cost someone to do the same themselves.

Originally, this car would have been fitted with the 998cc engine, had a vinyl roof, and been painted either Silver Blue, Nugget Gold, Hi-Ho Silver or Iridium Green. Unfortunately, these original details are unknown, and the engine bay area containing the paint sticker was likely stripped in the rebuild.

If anyone has further information on the history of this car, please get in touch with us. At the time of sale, the seller noted the following:

"Fully rebuilt motor 1275cc 4 speed manual new condition throughout. Full respray British Green. New Webber performance Carby 45DCOE13. Light Weight STEEL flywheel providing improvement in acceleration. All new brake components including master cylinder. New clutch master and slave cylinders. New front rubber bushes, ball joints, wheel bearings. High performance 12” rims & tyres. Recondition radiator and fan including new hoses throughout. New body seals & rubbers throughout mini. New battery and starter motor. New roof liner and interior panels. Mini has been completely electrically rewired throughout. New Pair of evolution bullet mirrors. Used stainless steel nuts and bolts throughout mini. Performance suspension. Mini flare kit and chrome mounding. Spent lots of dollars and many many of loving hours producing this master piece. Nothing to spend it's all been done, will take trade plus cash or something of same value"
