Shannons has some great examples come through its auctions, and this upcoming auction (link here) has a claimed super low-mileage example of the 1275 LS. Looks to be in fantastic original condition and claims to only show 1000km on the clock.. You have to remember, however, that the odometer on these cars does stop & reset at 100,000km, and by the look of the condition, it may have done that, but I don't think we'll ever know unless we could trace the maintenance history.
We've got a lot of these final edition Australian Minis on the register now, but like the cooper S, there seem to be fewer and fewer for sale as time goes by. Blessed with a factory standard 1275cc engine, and 8.4 inch disk brakes, they were a compelling package, and a great finale for Australian mini manufacturing.
The estimate on this car prior to auction is $20,000 - $30,000 - which I would sit about right with the current market (good standard Leyland Minis with a 1000cc engine seem to sell for up to $20K, but with an interest rate increase lingering, we've seen those drop a bit..
