It's been a while since we've added a NZ 1275 GT to the register - the seller offered a great description of the car in the original add (which was spotted on trademe.xo.nz - the car was asking $25,950 NZD. Here's the original description:
1981 was the last year of the legendary 1275GT in New Zealand and KA2999 still wears its black plates.
The engine has been machined by West Auckland engines. Its covered around 3000km since. It features a fully dynamically balanced crank and flywheel assembly. Pistons are 40thou over making the displacement 1310cc and are weight matched to their connecting rods. Camshaft is a Minispares EVO 1 with a duplex timing chain. Cylinder head is a STAGE2 big valve MG metro with a port matched Minispares inlet manifold, HIF44 carb a MED stub stack and foam filter. An oil cooler is fitted to keep it cool along with a aluminium radiator. Exhaust is a Maniflow LCB with larger centre branch manifold and single box system.
Suspension has been renewed as have all the bushes. Rear anti roll bar. 2 sets of wheels and tyres. Ultralights and 4 spoke revolutions with 4x 175/50/13 Yokohama A048 tyres. 4x 175/50/13 Yokohama A539’s. 4 spare new 175/50/13 Yokohama A048's.
The interior has lightweight classic bucket seats on the factory mountings and have Speedwell branded headrests. There is a bolt in roll cage (Not MSNZ spec) a fire extinguisher, 3 dial binnacle and a oil pressure gauge. New carpet, new door cards, new sport 500 gearknob, new alloy door furniture, new leather steering wheel. The ignition barrel has been replaced. A drop bracket is fitted. The rear 1275GT seats have been swapped for a really tidy black vinyl seat which closely matches the fronts.
The exterior has been painted in Suzuki yellow with a black roof and both NZ and UK 1275GT decals. A GT grill badge is fitted as is the original MINI1275GT badge on the rear boot lid. The front grill have been repainted with the alloy details polished. Tinted side and rear windows. Fixed rear quarter windows. Vintage Cibie Super Oscars are fitted on bespoke brackets. New window rubbers and chrome inserts have been fitted front and rear. The side rubbers are new. Rover Sportspack wheel arches have been fitted.
