1984 Mazda 929 Coupe

Another Mazda classic spotted - this example of the grand 929 coupe was advertised in NSW, Australia on Facebook marketplace asking &13,000. It has just 91,000 original km on the clock and is a true 80s time machine.

Personally, I think the interior of these cars are great looking for the era - particularly the modern stainless steel look around the stereo system (it could be something out of a car 20 years younger).. Unlike many other 80s coupes (think Skyline etc), the 929 hasn't exploded in value. It was never a race car, but rather, a luxury 80s cruiser presenting a slightly sportier alternative to come of the other large luxury coupes of the era (for example, the 124 Mercedes coupe). While the engineering may not have matched Mercedes in that particular era, it certainly would for reliability, and no doubt beat a Merc in terms of affordability at the time (although, late 80s luxury Japanese cars were also not cheap due to exchange rates)..

A great preserved car that needs little work - awesome for anyone who wants a slice of 80s styling and 80s luxury, without breaking the bank on a German coupe.
