The 5th on our small register of XR8 Sprints. This one looks to have been kept in very original condition, with reasonably low mileage for its age (215,000km). Unfortunately, however, the car no longer has its original engine.
AT the time we spotted this car online (Ebay AU), the seller made the following points:
-Feb 1994 Cobalt Auto A/C. No other options.
-In 2017 rust from sills, arch and fuel filler area was cut and fixed. Areas including sills, both door jambs, LHS rear door and quarter resprayed. There has been a little resurfacing of rust in one spot, around the filler unfortunately. That’s the only spot I can find. Rest of body is probably consistent with a 25year old car. I don’t believe the bonnet is originally off the vehicle it’s a slightly different shade.. Dints and songs consistent with age. There’s a couple on the roof from being in storage.
-Trans has been rebuilt at some stage.
-Lowered (too low approx SSL)
-Tinted Windows
-Underdrives, thermos and DiFilllipo headers.
-Needs an exhaust system
-Cracked headlight
-Leaking water pump
-AC needs a re-gas
-Guard ticks included but not installed
-2 sets of keys and owners manual
-I believe it has its original windscreen
-Spare wheel is a Sprint alloy
-Has Sprint correct 5500rpm instrument cluster, MAF and steering rack
Comes with a bunch of spares for the asking price including:
-Spare nosecone & lights
-NOS water pump
-Pink brake reservior
-Assortment of badges including NOS guard badges and aftermarket manifold plaque
-New low king springs all round
-Stack of magazines and articles
-Standard tape deck
Unfortunately at some stage it has had another block installed. Engine number matches to a 1996 model. Still has correct heads, rockers, intake etc.
