Burns and Co have had some great cars advertised recently, and this S500 is no exception. It will face an unreserved auction in December 2024, and should reach at least the late teens I'd think.. Looks to be a very original example of the Series 1 coupe - an extremely rare car in Australia, and my favourite Merc coupe of all time.
The sellers at the time made the following comments:
new.
This example was fully optioned, Bose stereo, fully memorized Seats which also adjusts all mirrors including the internal rear view as wheel as Steering position etc. The rear boot lid ejects its own lifting/closing handle/tab, so you don’t touch the paint work. Rear seats also electronically adjustable up/down in/out with heating (plenty of fun back then in the back seats).
The seller (classic car enthusiast & retired mechanic) has held the car for about 3 years after acquiring it from Melbourne Mercedes workshop /parts centre Directors personal vehicle for many years. A well loved and maintained car. Owning 12 cars stored in his warehouse and now fully retired it’s time to let some go being the only reason for selling.
A very well built and looked after V8 Coupe is sure to put smiles on any newcomers into this luxury space and unlike modern cars this is still 100% workable at any good mechanics shop or at home.
