The E39 ia a particularly well-proportioned car which looks even better in the Alpina livery. We've seen a couple of B10 V8 Alpinas offered for sale in as many weeks - this example located in Canada asking $16,800 through Ebay USA. It appears to be in excellent condition, with a relatively low 74,000 miles and was originally an import from Japan, but in left hand drive configuration (as is often the case with many up-market German cars sold in Japan). The seller notes that everything in the car works, there are no oil leaks or mechanical issues, with plugs and ignition coils recently replaced. Unfortunately, the seller has not provided the vehicle's unique Alpina build number, so we've only been able to record the VIN.
A number of E39 Alpina models were available; from the 6-cylinder B10 3.2 through to the top of the line V8 B8S. This particular model, the B10 V8, was the highest production V8 model in the E39 Alpina series, with 858 sedans built according to Alpina-Archive.com. For the pre-99 models, standard power sat around 340hp, taking the car from 0 - 100 in under 6 seconds. A nice opportunity for the Alpina enthusiasts to obtain the classic E39 shape in what is probably not far off a fair price.
