The 126 series was renowned for its exceptional build quality, and the unmistakable Bruno Sacco styling which influenced Mercedes for decades. Despite their significant price tag when new, the 126 series was the best selling S-Class of all time, and the 560 SEC is a top pick if you're looking for a modern Mercedes classic.
This particular example located in Pasedena California is finished in black (DB 040) with black full-leather trim (Code 261). The car is in excellent condition and comes with a meticulous maintenance history (see it here). The itemized records show over $60,000.00 (USD) worth of maintenance records since new.
The seller has confirmed the paint on this example is all original. Having been garaged it's whole life, it presents in excellent condition other than a few minor scratches only visible on close inspection (something you would expect with a 27 year old car). There is no rust whatsoever, helped by the fact the car has always resided in southern California. The SEC currently sits on polished Lorinser 17 inch alloy wheels, which provide a great stance and contrast to the gloss black body.
Inside, the original black leather trim is impressive for the vehicle's age, with no tears or rips. The seat bolsters look great with only a patch or two requiring a bit of leather conditioner to bring them in line with the rest of the trim. The rear seats appear as if they’ve never been used.
The current owner has had the car since May 2017, and has continued the tradition of meticulous maintenance. There are no mechanical issues or fluid leaks of any kind, and any issues have been promptly dealt with. A large number of parts have been replaced on the car, including the entire fuel system, drive axles, suspension, ignition system, vacuum lines, cruise control module, door lock systems and much more. Many of the older engine and transmission gaskets have also been replaced, as has the factory 4-speed automatic transmission, which shifts like new. All work undertaken has been recorded and the seller holds the invoices which will accompany the vehicle when sold.
