This is as good as it gets when it comes to modern classic rally-cars. Derived from the Group-A era, the Evo 6 is broadly considered the ultimate collector Evo, and recent price rises for these gems have certainly confirmed this.
This example is very clean and well presented in its original Satellite Silver with Tommi Makkinen Edition decals and Enkei wheels. The seller describes the paintwork as being in excellent condition for its age with the odd little paint chip here and there. On the outside there are a few added extras include ARC winglets, Ganador mirrors, clear tail lights, a carbon wing blade and RalliArt mudflaps.
The motor has very low k's with just 74,215 on the clock. The head, bottom end and turbo are all factory. The engine sports a few modifications to make an impressive amount of power while still retaining the factory feel. Modifications include the following:
- Autronic SM4 ECU
- Hypertune Intake manifold and fuel rail, braided lines
- 800cc injectors, Walbro 255 fuel pump and Turbosmart fuel pressure regulator
- Monsterport intake kit with battery relocation and battery isolator
- Hybrid intercooler kit, MR bov
- Tomei front pipe/dump pipe, Hi Flow catalytic converter and Fujitsubo cat back exhaust system
- RalliArt thermostat and Samco radiator hoses
- RalliArt ignition leads
The seller notes that all of the ground work was done with the intention of doing the head and putting a set of cams in. However, the seller was happy with how all these parts performed together and delivered the power. With all of the above it makes a decent 246.7kw atw on the dyno.
The steering, suspension and drivetrain has also had a bit of attention, with the likes of Tein Superstreet coilovers, RalliArt front LSD, Evo 8 RS rear diff conversion, Carbing front strut brace bar and RalliArt rear strut brace bar. The brakes have been replaced with APP slotted rotors front and rear with the addition of braided brake lines.
The interior is in great condition. Features include standard issue suede Recaro bucket seats, RalliArt pedals, Mitsubishi Motors triple gauge set (Volt, Temp, Boost), Blitz boost gauge, HKS Turbo timer and carbon dash panels.
The car has had the same owner for the last 14 years and they have kept everything in great condition knowing well how desirable and rare these cars are. All receipts for work and various bits and pieces total in excess of $23,000 - so at today's inflated rates there is no way you could build this car for the current asking price. All clean and polished and ready to go to a new home. The car will also come with a large assortment of original parts if the prospective purchaser desires.
Please note, number plates will not go with the car. For genuine enquires, please feel free to get in touch to discuss. Reasonable offers will be considered. For further information or to arrange an inspection, please sign-in and click "contact seller" at the top of this page.
