Purchased by the current owner in 2016 to use for family vacations, changes in business and life issues kept those driving/journey vacations from taking place. Purchased initially with some issues, those were fixed but the trips never happened. The seller is the third owner of the van, and it's now time to move the bus on to a new family.
The VW EuroVan is the modern version of the VW MicroBus, but much comfier and with much more power.
This 2002 edition has the VR6 2.8L engine that produces 201 HP and 181 lb ft or torque and moves that to the ground via the front wheels. The engine and body have 139,000 miles on them, the new trans maybe a couple hundred miles. The transmission has been rebuilt and the steering rack has been replaced. She runs and drives well and the body and underbody are rust/rot free.
The neat aspect about this normally 7 passenger van/bus is that there is a built in table that folds out and allows two people to eat comfortably. The two rear facing seats come out with a flip of a handle and the rear seat slides forward to reveal a full size bed. If that wasn't enough (because you can pretty much do that in a lot of larger SUVs) this van comes with all the black out window curtains that clip in place for privacy and even netting/screens so you can have windows open while you sleep but with the screens in place, you'll keep the bugs out.
The AC has just been serviced and blows nice and cold and the rear compartment has it's own AC controls. There is a BOSE sound system throughout for playing your music either while driving or when "camped out". Aside from the aforementioned AC and Bose system, she's equipped with power steering, cruise control, 4 wheel power disc brakes, air bags and ABS-ESP stability control.
The interior is in very good condition with no tears or rips. The rug could use a deep steam cleaning and while you're there, taking it to the seats in back wouldn't hurt. The previous owner had the van painted in it's original metallic charcoal, almost black, several years before this family obtained her.
If you and your significant other are into outdoor sports and are ready for some adventure, simply put the bikes/kayaks/skis/surf board!, etc on the roof rack, plug in the electric cooler in the 12V power outlet, toss in a duffel bag of clothes and off you go. This a great way to get out to those places and stay for the weekend. Or if you're traveling across country, why stay in a hotel. Pull into a rest area, slide out the bed, clip up the black out curtains and go to sleep... and... If you're into following bands around the country like Dead and Company, Dark Star Orchestra or Dave Matthews and going to music festivals, this is the modern version of the Summer of Love -1969.
With newer tires and a recent service, this Macro Bus is ready to hit the road. There is also a clean CarFax.
