For sale: 1968 Porsche 912 Coupe

The 912 has seen a huge demand increase over the last decade as classic Porsche sportscars have been in a market of their own. Originally designed as an entry level version of the 911, the 912 was offered from 1965 through to 1969 and was fitted with a 1.6l  4-cylinder boxer engine: a derivative of the engine used in the earlier Porsche 356.

There were just over 32,000 Porsche 912s built through its short production run, and while a relatively rare car by modern standards, a strong enthusiast following has ensured many of these classics have survived. Further, the 912 continues to be a popular choice for historic motor racing, noting the car's history as the winner of the European Rally Championship in 1967.

This particular example is a US new delivered vehicle, offered in excellent running condition. The car has an all original rust-free body, and has been freshly painted in its correct Polo Red. All glass and bumpers were removed for the the paint restoration.

It's fitted with Fuchs wheels, and has a factory 5-speed manual transmission. A brand new correct seat kit (including new foam) has been installed from Sierra Madre. All numbers match the Certificate of Authenticity provided by Porsche - which will go with the sale.

The fuel system has also been completely refurbished from tank to carbs, and it has all new shifter bushings and pedal bushings, new master cylinder and brake pads. The calipers have also been rebuilt, and Stainless steel brake lines fitted. All accessories are working perfectly, and this car is ready to be enjoyed.
