This 2005 Peugeot 206 GTI 180 has just 107,000km on the clock (with only 30,000km put on since the seller's ownership in 2013).
This is the Phase 2 GTi, for which Peugeot put in far more effort to better live up to the classic GTi name plate which it established in the legendary 205 GTi. The 206 Phase 2 had upped the factory power to around 180hp from the 2.0l NA engine, mated to a 5 Speed Manual transmission. This puts it well on par with competitors such as the Renault Clio Sport, and these are well known to be very fun cars, ideally suited to thin city streets and tight bends. So if you're looking for a modern classic with fun practicality, this French pocket rocket should be on your list.
The car has a new battery, aftermarket 'Remus' exhaust tip and is in mechanically excellent condition, with the seller noting only a couple of issues that may eventually need attention - including a slight 'crunch' in 4th gear, and a rough idle during cold start (which eventually disappears once warmed up). It would be hard to find one with lower mileage.
There were also very few of these cars finished in white (with the paint in good condition for its age), and on this example, the factory 17" GTi wheels have been painted black to provide a nice contrast to the body. The interior is in immaculate condition, and being the GTi variant it has the leather/suede sports bucket seats fitted as standard. The log books and original user manual come with the car, and the car is registered through to May 2023.
Body wise, the paint is great for it's age. However, the seller notes that there is a small dent on the passenger door,
The car is being offered for sale as it is no longer driven much. These are one of the best looking hot hatches of the early 00s, with power to back the looks. The price has now dropped to $6,950 AUD - can be negotiated further if it sells this weekend (ending 2 October).
