I never knew much about the "Super Bee" cars until I watched an episode of Rust Valley Restorers on Netflix - and I've instantly found these cars to be one of the muscle car gems of this great era. The large chrome grille rings on the front of the car are designed to resemble bee wings when you're viewing the car approaching - and the range were available in some great colours - this example in "Burnt Orange".
This example has the 383ci V8 fitted, and believe it or not that's the smallest engine option available (others being the 426ci and 440ci). The 383ci produced a very sufficient 335hp. For the 1970 year, around 15,000 units are believed to have been produced.
When we spotted this example on Ebay USA, it was asking $60,000 USD. It's been restored to excellent condition, and the seller noted it has a 69 date coded engine, Edelbrock 4 barrel carburetor, dual exhaust, power steering, factory A/C and front disc brakes. It sits on 15” rally wheels with BF Goodrich tires, has the scooped hood, stripe package, white vinyl top, drivers and factory AM/FM radio.
An excellent example of this popular MOPAR muscle car. Look forward to writing about a few more of these in future. See the original listing here on Ebay USA.
