They are essentially a derivative of the Group A Rally Mazda Familia (although, in this version its only the 12wd, but stil has the same DOHC turbo engine). This G11 Turbo was spotted on Gumtree.com.au for sale in the Gold Coast, QLD. The car has supposedly been fitted with a new motor and only has 3,000km on the clock, tuned by "Pits" on the goldcoast. It looks like it's had its bumbers painted (the originals were black), along with the sude door rubbing strips, and some Gen 4 GTi wheels have been fitted which don't look bad at all. Offered through a dealer in Leichardt in 2020, this is one of the rare De Tomaso Daihatsu Charades - offered in this generation only in the Japanese market. The car was factory modified with a rav=ce derived camshaft, and the 1.6l engine produced 91kw. De Tomaso applied their custom body kit, and Recaro seats were fitted standard. 1978 1275LS Purchased from Romsey in Victoria around 1995 - originally Nugget Gold. Full restoration from ground up. Non original paint code or trim, custom dash, 1275 engine with a little work and SC Gearbox. Standard flaring with 5.5 Mini Lites x 12. Brakes converted to 4 pot and booster added. This was going to be a quick fixer upper but ended up being stripped and built from the ground up.
