1972 Datsun 180B SSS Coupe

Spotted on Facebook Marketplace in February 2020 asking $20,000, this early 1972180B SSS was being sold as part of a deceased estate. It’s a one owner, matching numbers car that was resprayed back in the early 90’s. The engine bay was the only part not painted. The original colour was orange. The car has been in shed storage since the early 90’s, and hasn’t been driven or started since. The front end is up on blocks.

At the time, the seller noted that the interior is in excellent condition (apart from a few cracks in the dash pad) as is the body, hard to find any rust. Chrome and glass are also excellent. The odometer reads 38xxx miles (presumably it has been around the clock once)..It has a 4 speed gearbox and the original twin carby engine. This car is becoming super rare, one of the earliest of the early models. The dash was only in production for one year.

Current seller's family member actually bought this from the original owner in 1979 when it had 53000 miles on it. So obviously it has gone around the clock once and it’s had two owners, which doesn’t really change anything. We have some service and repair manuals and the purchase documents from 1979.
