This rare GTS-R was found on carsales in December 2016, asking $32,500 AUD, sold through Heartbeat cars in Sydney. This would be one of very few in the country, and a rare opportunity for any purchaser interested in a modern investment classic. For more information on these cars, please see our Skyline GTS-R identification guide here, or have a look at the cars we have so far on our Skyline GTS-R register.
At the time of sale, the seller made the following comments about the car:
This car is completely original with the exception of the road wheels and head unit. Original Hub caps still accompany this vehicle and will be included in the sale. Becoming extremely rare with only 800 built some cars were used for racing purposes, some would of come to grief along the way and most being insanely modified, finding an almost stock example is a feat in itself. This is the ultimate version of the R31 powered by the RB20DET-R. The HR31 GTS-R Coupe of which 800 units were built to allow homologation for Group A Touring Car racing. Introduced in late 1987, it had a reworked version of the normal RB20DET with a much larger turbocharger on a tubular steel exhaust manifold, as well as a much larger front-mounted intercooler.
