For sale: 1967 Ford F350 Tow Truck

Cooter's Wrecker? Nah, but a very similar 1967 Ford F350 that hails from the same town in Georgia where the Dukes of Hazzard was filmed over the first several episodes (Conyers, GA).

I can't say for sure that this truck was in any scenes of the hit TV show, but I can't say for sure it wasn't. This truck was built in the Norfolk, VA plant and didn't go too far from there, getting it's wrecker body and put to work in Conyers, GA shortly thereafter.

The wrecker was purchased a couple years ago with the intent of using as a promotional vehicle for the owner's diesel repair facility, however, that never got off the ground and now, after simply not using it enough, it's time to sell her on.

The truck shows just 38000 miles on the odometer and that is believed to be correct. The 352 starts easily and runs very strong, due in part to the FiTech fuel injection and the new dual exhaust. The engine turns the big Dana 70 rear diff, stuffed with 4.56 gears, through an NP-435 4 speed manual trans and a Cheslea - Muncie PTO unit.

As the truck was original when he bought it (aside from a respray in 1982 in the original Wimbledon White), he decided to keep it as close to that as possible by keeping the patina, just cleaning it up a bit and adding some Patina Sauce. The engine is original, the Holmes 440 wrecker body, lift, and winch are all original as is the interior.

The current owner added brand new tires all the way around in 2020 (Power King 7.50-16 in front and Power King Extra Traction 7.50-16 in back) before doing that, he had the two piece wheels powder coated in a semi-flat dark red.

Everything works as it should. The PTO engages and dis-engages smoothly, which operates the winch. The lift goes up and down easily, from both controls, the emergency amber, flashing light spins and all bulbs are lit. All the lights work, heater, defrost, wipers and even the cigarette lighter.

The truck also has a new battery and was treated to NH Undercoating anti rust agent. There is no rust/rot on this truck. Cab corners are great inside and out. It drives well too, the large steering wheel making easy work of pointing it where it needs to go and the power drum brakes bringing it to a solid stop when needed.

How will you use it? A promotional tool? Letter it up with your shop logo and head out to cruise nights, car shows set up a table and hand out cards... Or, put her back to work. With the proper insurance, you can get into the towing biz pretty quick and easy with this truck. Or... Just drive it and enjoy it and let people enjoy seeing it as much as you will driving it.

The asking price is $25,000
