For sale: 1972 Chevy C-10 shortbed pickup (LS powered)

sold

This truck was purchased out of OH by the current owner about 5 years ago with the idea that as an LS3 powered truck, it would be powerful, quick and reliable. He wasn't wrong, however the truck did need a little tuning/tweaking to come up that step.

The work the current owner did, aside from routine maintenance, was to get the FI Tech fuel injection computer working correctly, remove the old, behind the seat, rusty gas tank and replace with an 18 gal, stainless steel unit under the bed, add a high output electric fuel pump and filter along the frame side for easy access (the tank will accept an in-tank pump is so desired) install a make shift fan shroud and get the gauges all working correctly.

The LS engine in this C-10 very probably came from a 2005 Chevy truck, as told to him by the previous owner. In stock form this V8 will punch out roughly 270-295 HP and 315-335 lb ft torque. This one had injectors done and runs headers down to 3" stainless pipes that side exit through the bed side. She sounds real mean, has a very deep rumble and growls and barks when under hard acceleration. This truck runs out very strong and drives like a scalded ape.

The previous owner did most of the work which included several trips to LMC truck for the hood, inner and outer fenders, cab corners, rockers and other trim goodies here and there. The truck is rust/rot free in the body and has the usual, expected surface rust on the frame and suspension bits. He did the LS swap which includes the special mounts, headers and exhaust, rear roll pan, and the LED lights, plus the installation of the gauges, and reupholstering the seat. It's a leather like vinyl that is rather comfortable to sit in.

The engine is reportedly hooked to a TH350 and that sends the rest of the power and torque to a 12 bolt GM rear end that had been welded. The current owner replaced the gears with 3.54s, open. With all that done, it was painted black and then misted with a satin finish green that sort of flip flops, it still needs to be color sanded and buffed, so the paint is a little rough.

Some "options" include power steering and power brakes, disc in front and drums out back. They stop the "big and littles" quite easily. The "bigs" are American Racing 8 hole aluminum wrapped with 275/60/R15 Mastercraft Avengers, the "littles" are Mastercraft A/S 235/75/R15 on the same wheel.

Everything about this truck works as it should, she runs and sounds awesome and looks pretty cool. She probably isn't going to win any shows but you'll sure have fun getting there and back. Exactly what this truck is meant for.. having fun.. heading out to cars and coffee, cruise nights, just tooling around... and occasionally annoying the neighbors and scaring small animals and children.

If you're a gear head, what could be more fun? All this entertainment can be had for $19,500.

Either leave her as is and just romp or use her a very strong basis for a higher end resto-mod. Any questions, for many more photos and video to set up time to see her or to make an offer, please don't hesitate to contact me.

Thanks for the interest.
