There are only a handful of Lancia Delta Integrales in Australia, making this a particularly unique opportunity for the rally collector car enthusiast. This particular example was delivered new in Japan, then imported to Australia as a rally/race car, but has only done two tarmac rallies. Like all 16v HF models, the car remains in its original left hand drive configuration, and the seller has retained the original factory seats which will go with the sale should the successful purchaser wish to return the car to factory specifications.
The Delta is widely regarded as the most successful rally car of all time, and dominated the sector in the late 80s and early 90s. The 16v Integrale was a significant improvement on several earlier 4WD performance variants of the Delta, including the HF 4WD and Integrale 8v. The introduction of the 16v Integrale saw immediate rally success, winning the 1989 San Remo Rally, and having numerous victories over the following two seasons. These cars are truly a thoroughbred rally car, where the road cars are actually related to the vehicles that competed on the track. For this reason, the Deltas continue to attract significant attention from collectors around the world.
This particular example is in very good condition, with no rust apart from a few small sealed and repaired spots around the front windscreen. The car was prepared by Maximum Motorsport of Australia for tarmac rally, or historic racing. However, the seller notes that the car has only completed in two tarmac rallies since being prepared. The car has recently had a major service in mid 2020, including rectifying minor oil leaks with brand new OE seals. The compression was also checked during the recent service and shows even compression over all four cylinders.
The car has a new Brad Stacey CAMS approved half roll-cage with all paperwork provided. It has brand new Cobra race seats, brand new Velo Hans 6 point harnesses, six brand new period 16 x 7.5 rims (similar style to the later “Evoluzione”), new custom stainless 3" exhaust, new aluminium radiator, adjustable coil-over suspension with new front Koni inserts, slotted rotors with near new Ferodo pads, 4 near new and 2 used Yokohama A050 tyres, upgraded turbo and Tanc Barratt chip, new long wheel stud conversion, new coolant hoses, new fire extinguishers, heavy duty clutch, Whiteline rear sway bar and new Rally Safe mounting kit. The car has always been very well maintained, all electrics are A1, and everything works - the alternator having also been reconditioned.
