1971 Mini Cooper S MK3

The very last of the original Cooper S.. This Bronze Yellow (Orange) MK3 Cooper S was offered via classiccarauctions.co.uk in September 2020. The site noted that the car sold for GBP 21,000 - somewhat below what I would have expected for such a low mileage example of an original MKIII car. See the original listing here.

At the time this example was offered, the seller noted the following comments:

  • First registered in June 1971 and with our vendor for over 30 years
  • Finished in brilliant Sandglow Yellow with a black interior
  • Fitted with a period-correct Moto-Lita wood-rimmed steering wheel
  • Totally unmolested and regularly maintained in an eclectic Mini collection
  • The majority of the 64,183 indicated miles were covered in the early days
  • Only 792 of these cars were built for the home market and consequently are now rare.
