Super-rare, but perhaps not one of the most desirable HSV variants, I felt it was nonetheless important to document this early VN sports wagon. It passed in unsold on Grays Auctions in December 2022. Unsure of the price at the time I do presume it was in excess of $10,000. Described as being in overall "fair" condition by the seller, it was offered unregistered and looks to have lived a fairly normal Commodore wagon life.
Looks like it might also be referred to as the SV LE wagon - found a post on an HSV Facebook page for these cars confirming the following: The VN SVLE was a special pre-Christmas limited edition, and the first HSV model to feature both the sedan and wagon body styles. The sedan had vague similarities to the Calais/SV89 with its detailing and equipment, whereas the wagon was similar to the Berlina. Significantly, the SVLE wagon was the first to introduce a new, silver pentagonal star pattern alloy wheel, which became the ‘HSV Family Wheel’ and later featured on the SV5000. Powered by a 5.0-litre V8 producing 180kW/400Nm, the sedan was available in Maranello Red from $43,140. The wagon cost $655 more on release, and was available in Firethorn Red. One of the final three cars produced for this model was actually sent to the UK where it was used for the development of the Group A aero kit.
Looks like this one is missing its original wheels and grille. Had a harder life than most I suspect. Great to get it on the register though :) See the original listing on https://www.grays.com/
