Mercedes
We've always been a fan of the 500E / E500 here at Classic Register, writing one of our earliest articles on these cars as 'modern classics' in early 2014. This 1994 model ( available here on Ebay USA) represents the last full production year, noting that a further 120 cars were built in 1995. Less than 10,500 of these were built in total. Of that total, around 1,500 were sold in the US, making...

Holden
Listed for sale in mid February of 2017 for $74,990 AUD is Holden’s LH SL/R Torana. This features a 5.0L V8 engine which gave this medium sized car from the 70s plenty of grunt. The LH SL/R was primarily designed for the famous Bathurst race track in NSW. As you can see this version is easily identified by the bolt on mud guards. Please note some modifications have been made to this car.

Renault
This Mexican version of the Alpine found on Hemmings.com, asking $99,900 (USD). The Alpine-Renault A110 was no stranger to the racing in the early 1970's, winning several rally championships throughout the world in 1973 due to its proven performance and handling. Its striking appearance was first penned by Giovanni Michelotti, who was also responsible for lines from Ferrari, Maserati, BMW and...

Holden
One of just 302 built, this SS Group A Commodore was offered for $95,000 (AUD) on carsales.com.au in February 2017. The seller claims the car has only travelled 29,218km, and is completely original other then the replacement tyres. As the last of the Group A Holdens, expect these VNs to be demanding ever higher prices in future. Classic Register did a short write up on another of these cars here...

Jaguar
An early E-type under restoration near Albuquerque, New Mexico. The car was found by the current owner in Albuquerque, on the old Route 66. It had been in storage in for many years and was overgrown with tall weeds. It's almost rust free, which is very unusual for any early E-type. There is a small rusted through area beneath the gas tank, where the "horsehair" insulation pad sat under the tank...

Jaguar
Released in 1973 the XJ Series 2 was a face lifted version of the earlier Series 1 and was the last Jaguar saloon to have input from founder Sir William Lyons. This particular fuel injected 5.3L V12 was built in 1976 and is Australian delivered. The interior remains in excellent condition with the woodwork, dash, steering wheel, dials, carpets and roof lining all in first class condition. The red...

Morris
This MK2 Australian Cooper S is one of approximately 2,500 built, currently offered here on Ebay. The seller has entered an asking price of $35,000 (AUD), which is certainly not the highest we've seen in recent times. Although we haven't got any images of the data plate or body stampings, the seller notes it is a matching numbers car. Finished in Camino Gold all over, an original colour option on...

Nissan
Last known to be located in Victoria, this 1988 Nissan Special Vehicles Division (SVD) Pulsar is the first we've got on the register. For those not familiar with SVD - this was a division like HSV, Tickford or FPV in Australia, who made performance modifications to models including the Skyline, Pulsar and Navara during the late 1980s, and these models were sold new through Nissan dealers as...

Nissan
This GTS2 was offered by the seller back in May 2012, located in South Australia asking $8,900, later in the thread dropping to $7,900. One of 200 limited editions built, we note this one has the desirable manual transmission option - many GTS2s were auto. The seller noted that they originally purchased the car from Victoria, and have listed a number of modifications that were made to the car...

Nissan
This GTS1 was being parted out by the owner in September 2016 - however, we have since been told that the car was never wrecked, and is still alive and well! Number 032 of 200 built. The car was last located in adelaide, but unfortunately we were not able to confirm the precise chassis number of the car, only the unique build number. If anyone has further information on this car, please comment or...

Subaru
We've written about the Version 6 STI in our future classics article here, and this example of the RA version could be a great investment opportunity as the last rally-spec road going version of the classic shape. Offered here on motor-hub.co.uk, the prices of these limited edition classics are probably not going to get much lower. This one is asking £6,995, which represents a fairly reasonable...
