This exceptionally well restored MK3 S is one of just 1570 built in 1971 - the last of the original Cooper S cars.. It's build date specifically is 24th November 1970 , and was first registered on 1 January 1971 according to the seller. It's original registration Mark XCV 218J was issued in Truro Cornwall on 1st January 1971 

It has the correct "XADl" chassis number. The DVLA records show that this car was bought new by Ms June Grainger-Allen of 35 Treryn close St Blazey Cornwall. It remained in the west Country for some years.  The car is finished in its original colour of Glacier white with standard black interior trim and carpets. It retains its original perforated 41/2 inch steel wheels and regular steering wheel. Factory fit options include reclining front seats and a very early Triplex Hotline heated rear window. 

The car retains its Hydrolastic suspension which had remained in sound condition prior to the restoration (many Hydrolastic Minis have been converted to "dry" suspension due to the difficulty and expense of finding serviceable displacer units). 

Before it was restored, this car was in very presentable condition and was used regularly until 1998 when it was laid up with a view to a full restoration. In 2007 it was sent to Chris Baker of Yorkshire Restorations who carried out a painstaking 20 month restoration to the original factory specification. (The minor departures from factory specification are electronic ignition, halogen headlamps and polyurethane bushes for the subframe mountings). 

This car was the subject of a six page feature in the January 2010 edition of "Mini Magazine".
